Dental Implants

Dental implants are small, titanium post that is surgically attached to the jaw bone. Over the course of a few months, the dental implant will fuse with the jawbone. Once your dental implant and jawbone fuse, Dr. Marra will attach either a dental crown, dental bridge, or a denture as your final restoration. A dental crown is used to replace single missing teeth. A dental bridge is used to replace consecutive missing teeth. A denture is used to replace a full arch of teeth. Dr. Marra will examine your teeth and determine which restoration will give you the most natural looking, functional results. Dental implants also offer a range of benefits:

  • Look and function like natural teeth
  • High success rate
  • Durable
  • Don’t need adhesive
  • Cost effective
  • Don’t need to worry about slippage

The Process: Dental Implants

Dr. Marra has dedicated hours of continuous training to provide patients with the latest advancements in implant dentistry. During your consultation, restorative dentist Dr. Marra will examine your teeth to determine if you are an ideal candidate for dental implants. If dental implants are not right for you, we offer a range of tooth replacement options that may suit your needs.

If dental implants are right for you, Dr. Marra will begin by planning your treatment. During the treatment planning phase, Dr. Marra uses advanced digital technology, including CAT scans for high resolution, 3-D images of your jaw to accurately place your dental implants. Once the dental implants are surgically attached to the jawbone, it will take 3-6 months for it to completely fuses. Once fused, Dr. Marra will attach a dental crown, dental bridge, or denture as your final restoration. Once the final restoration is attached, patients can enjoy a functional, natural looking smile.
