I come from a family of five where 4 of us are dentists and where education and personal development are valued. I have learned to appreciate hard work and the gratification that comes with it by watching my father, dentist and educator, thrive and achieve his dreams through dedication to perfection in his career. Having such a role model inspired me to pursue a career in dentistry.
I received my Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Oral Medicine at the Cairo University Faculty of Oral Medicine and Dental Surgery in 2005. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in the top 10 of my class. After graduating I did 1 year as a general practice resident in Cairo university hospitals. During that year I was exposed to all the aspects of general dentistry and comprehensive dental care. That year ignited my passion for prosthodontics. Due to my class rank, I was given the opportunity to join the faculty of Cairo University Dental School as junior faculty where I decided to join the department of Removable Prosthodontics which I maintained till 2008.
In 2008 I was accepted and matriculated in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry 2 yrs. postgraduate program at Eastman Institute of Oral Health at the University of Rochester New York. That enabled me to receive my licensure in the United States of America. I then continued my specialty training and certification in prosthodontics at Rutgers School of Dentistry 2015 – 2018. In 2018, I matriculated in a digital and implant dentistry fellowship in Rutgers school of dental medicine where I was able to work with digital dental technologies to improve the surgical and restorative outcomes for patients.
In July 2019 I matriculated in the prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to manage the dental and prosthetic needs of patients going through cancer. Through that period until July 2020, I was involved directly in the care of cancer patients and fabricated extra oral facial prosthetics to replace facial extra oral structures for cancer patients. I was involved in the management of intraoral prosthetic rehabilitations after going through extensive Intra and extra oral cancer surgeries and rehabilitations.
In December 2020 I had the opportunity to meet and interview with Dr. Marra in Capital Region Complete Dental Care and Implants. The chemistry was instant, not only because he shared the same background of having being raised in dental families, but because we shared the same patient-oriented comprehensive treatment philosophies and ethical dental morals for care. Dr. Marra adopts the most recent novel advanced techniques and technologies to provide the best patient-oriented care and outcomes for his patients. Dr. Marra and I share our love for soccer, winter sports, swimming, and squash. All of these common denominators made me feel happy to be a part of his dental family and team.
Today I’m very excited and proud to call Capital Region Complete Dental Care and Implants my dental home. I’m very excited to be a part of the Capital Region community and extended suburbs to continue to provide the most novel, comprehensive and aesthetic dental therapies and options to the community.
